Landlords, Property sellers and Holiday let owners Energy Efficiency reports ( EPC )

If you are a landlord and rent property to tenants, then you will need to have an Energy Efficiency report created to show your tenants from the 1st of October 2008.If you are selling your property either privately or through and Estate Agent, you need an EPC. And now if you own and rent out a holiday home, you need an EPC from 1st July 2011. This report will show the costs of heating and lighting the property so that the persons can compare other properties to get the most energy efficient property to rent. There are tax advantages for enhancing a properties Energy Efficiency.

The EPC's are here to stay and are now part of a European directive to reduce the amount of energy we all use to heat our homes, as this is seen as the biggest use of our resources such as Gas and Electricity. All our other European countries have been saving as much energy as they can for years and using free energy sources like sunlight and wind to generate hot water and electicity, so the UK has to now do its bit to save our key energy supplies like Gas, which now comes from Russia as our natural gas supplies are dwindling quickly.
